Koi Herpes Virus (KHV), as the name suggests, only affects and kills carp (Cyprinus carpio) including koi, ghosts and common varieties. Other species such as goldfish and grass carp in the same system remain unaffected. Seemingly healthly fish may become ill and die within 24-48 hours. Typically there is a 80-100% mortality rate within 10 days of the disease outbreak.

KHV reports

The OATA office has prepared a full 34-page report on Koi Herpes Virus (KHV). The report may be obtained from the OATA office (available to OATA Members only).
